About the team

Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week, and remote employees onsite once a quarter.

What you’ll be doing

-- Manage the Engineering Core Platform Team, which is responsible for developing the company’s cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) that delivers API services to the financial industry.
-- Engage in software development lifecycle through user engagement to elicit requirements to convert to usable and scalable technical solutions.
-- Manage timely project delivery through Agile practices aligning with company OKRs, working with the VP of Engineering and CTO to improve our core platform.
-- Develop the hiring strategy and hire a world-class team of 9 to build the architecture practices for the Alloy Platform Organization. Improve engineering recruiting experience through training, and documentation, and streamline candidate onsite process for hiring at scale.
-- Create, track, and manage the engineering team’s core goals and key results (OKRs), and key performance indicators for the platform (KPIs).
-- Drive working agreements for the team to function effectively including code reviews and architecture design, QA and load testing, and deployment automation processes.
-- Engage product and engineering stakeholders to communicate technical and product decisions periodically to our customers.
-- Resolve blocking issues at the system level to improve the reliability and resiliency of the core platform.
-- Automate team updates and system triage processes like system uptime, and error reporting using Slack-based automation workflows and Retool.
-- Develop frameworks for microservices architecture using object-oriented programming languages and server-side languages like NodeJs/TypeScript, and end-end testing using Postman, Jest and Cypress, and improve code quality using Synk and Codecov.
-- Develop cloud-based applications using AWS, and write core infrastructure using terraform, docker, Kubernetes, and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and CircleCI, integrated with version control systems such as Git.
-- Help with the launch of the infrastructure product globally and communicate effectively across engineering, business stakeholders, and customers.
-- Form the documentation task force within the organization to streamline documentation practices and create reusable templates for product requirement documents (PRDs), technical specifications, and requests for proposals (RFPs) and meeting notes.
-- Triage and reduce support issues escalated by users with minimum to no-downtime disruptions to the business using tools like DataDog, Sentry, and OpenSearch.

Who we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of work experience as Engineering Manager, Vice President, Associate, or closely related occupation.

Wage Range

$235,040 - $242,000/year
