We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week, and remote employees onsite once a quarter. Alloy’s mission is to help financial companies deploy safe and seamless customer experiences. The Design team sits at the center of that mission. The complexity of compliance rules and the ever-evolving sophistication of fraudsters create a massive opportunity for Alloy to provide a single API and a powerful visual workflow builder that reduce risk and help fintechs and banks get to market faster. We provide policy owners, compliance officers, fraud investigators, and developers with the tools they need to spend more time building best in class products for their customers. <h2>What you’ll be doing </h2> <h3>Own our design system</h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will help prioritize the most impactful areas of focus within the design system and our greater frontend strategy. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will collaborate with product designers to articulate design system principles and create world-class documentation. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will work with frontend engineering teams to contemplate the optimal component API and composition from both the designer and developer perspective. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will help mitigate design debt by whatever means necessary—updating interfaces with new components, developer tooling and linters, and any other novelties you can imagine. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will leverage the design system to create the most accessible and delightful dashboard possible via browser performance optimization, responsive layouts, a11y best practices, and subtle animations/microinteractions. </li> </ul> <h3>Improve our developer experience</h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will craft consumer-facing experiences within Alloy’s embeddable SDK that remove friction from the fintech user experience. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will build sample implementations that offer client engineering teams a playground during the sales and integration process. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will create experiences to help our sales team demonstrate the power of Alloy’s platform. </li> </ul> <h3>Imagine the future of Alloy</h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will help take brand new initiatives from 0 to 1, initiating your own ideas or prototyping with a designer to bring concepts to life and demonstrate the value of step change ideas. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will use your preferred toolkit to articulate complex interactions (Figma, Framer, vanilla html, etc) and translate those into production-ready code. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will help create leverage within our product organization by evangelizing adoption of frontend best practices, promoting broad component library usage, development of Figma plugins or linting tools or CLI helpers, and generally improving the internal developer experience. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> You will help tighten the feedback loop between product, design, and engineering by bridging any technical divide between functions, acting as a Rosetta stone of sorts. </li> </ul> <h2>Who we're looking for</h2> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"> Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS and comfort with single page Javascript applications (React). </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> 5 or more years of relevant design and web front-end development or creative technology experience at a tech-forward, product-driven company. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> Experience designing and building a design system that powers a complex dashboard including (but not limited to) data visualizations, information-heavy interfaces, and sensitive/high-risk data. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> A strong understanding of the formal elements of design beyond the web including typography, layout, balance, proportion, motion etc. </li> </ul> <h2>We Would Love To See</h2> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"> An online portfolio and links to example projects/libraries you’ve built. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> Your resume and/or LinkedIn profile. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;"> A short summary of a particularly successful project, focusing on how you solved an existing problem. </li> </ul> At Alloy, we strive to attract and retain talent with a total rewards program that is competitive with other organizations of our size and stage.
