As the Commercial Lead for our cutting-edge bioreactor equipment designed for biomanufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in driving the acquisition and success of customers in both bench-scale trials and industrial-scale sales environments. This dynamic position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for customer satisfaction and a keen interest in biomanufacturing.
Ark is a fast paced, start-up and the commercial lead will be expected to wear many hats.

Position

  • Full-time, exempt
  • Greater Boston area
  • 2-5 days of travel a month, including international travel

Key responsibilites

  • Customer Acquisition Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to acquire new customers for our advanced bioreactor equipment.
  • Bench-Scale Trial Success: Collaborate with the process science team to facilitate successful bench-scale trials for prospective clients. Guide customers through the trial process, addressing technical queries and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Industrial-Scale Sales: Lead the sales efforts for industrial-scale bioreactor equipment. Provide technical expertise during sales presentations and negotiations.
  • Collateral Creation and Marketing: Take a leadership role in creating marketing collateral tailored to showcase the advanced features and benefits of our bioreactor equipment.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop and refine pricing strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining competitiveness in the biomanufacturing equipment market.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the process science team, engineering team, and other relevant departments to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to customer acquisition and satisfaction.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Own day-to-day interactions with customers, addressing their needs, providing technical support, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Industry Insight: Stay informed about advancements in biomanufacturing, industry regulations, and emerging technologies to position our bioreactor equipment as cutting-edge and aligned with market needs.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to customer acquisition, satisfaction, and revenue growth for both bench-scale and industrial-scale initiatives.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for the company.

About you

  • Background in biotechnology, bioengineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a commercial role within the biopharmaceutical or biomanufacturing industry.
  • Experience with hardware sales; software sales a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
