About Bedrock:

Bedrock is operationalizing the largest Earth-exploration mission in human history. We’re doing that by developing robotics & software to explore, map, and classify the entirety of Earth's ocean floor. The oceans are a critical component of climate stabilization. Our hope is to provide critical subsea data and infrastructure to further understand and predict the fundamental forces that support harmonious human existence on this planet.

About You and the Role:

The ocean covers over 70% of our planet—we need the sea to survive—but despite its importance we know little about it: over 80% of the ocean has never been mapped; moreover, it’s believed that less than 5% has been mapped at least at a 100m resolution.

The truth is that humans know much more about the surfaces of the Moon and Mars than our own ocean floor. We at Bedrock think that needs to change. Quickly.

We are seeking an Integrations Engineer to join our team and work on the integration, testing, and deployment of our autonomous survey systems. We need someone who shares our values and is driven by our purpose and mission. Most importantly, we're looking for a good human being with a low ego who cares about the future of our planet and is willing to take on the challenge with us. Someone willing to get things done when it is not ideal and challenging, especially where it counts when everything comes together in the critical integration stage. This can make or break the mission, and we know there are those who live in the moments that make the mission a success rain or shine.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with our cross-functional team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as our operations teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our autonomous survey systems. You'll also have the opportunity to grow and develop as an engineer, learning new skills and taking on new challenges as we scale our operations.

We're a small and collaborative team that values open communication. We want to empower each team member to take ownership of their work and contribute to our growth and success. We're looking for someone who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and is excited to join us on this adventure.

If you're ready to explore the last true frontier left on Earth and make a meaningful impact on the future of our planet, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join the Bedrock team!

  • Proficiency in using simulation and modeling tools for system validation and performance analysis (including python, matlab, or equivalent)

  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git

  • Experience in designing and implementing system-level tests and validation procedures

  • Experience in post mission test data review root cause analysis

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex system-level issues across various domains (electrical, mechanical, software, and operations)

Explore the last true frontier left on Earth with us.

We’re seeking ultra-determined people who aren’t afraid to pioneer new solutions and challenge conventional assumptions. Most of all, we're looking for high-quality, good human beings with low egos who are purpose and mission driven. We are looking for someone who cares as much about the future of our life on earth as we do, and willing to take on the challenge together to face one of the greatest equalizers of technologies on the planet, the ocean.
