Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join Electric. In this role, you will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining records, and assisting with routine accounting tasks. You will also support internal teams and vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively via phone and email with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support the accounts payable (Procure to Pay) process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist with vendor setup, ensuring accurate payment details and compliance documentation
  • Research and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies, working closely with vendors and internal teams
  • Ensure all invoices and expenses are properly coded and approved before payment processing
  • Assist in maintaining expense platforms, including Tipalti (AP cycle) and Navan (expense management)
  • Reconcile AP-related accounts and assist with month-end close activities
  • Maintain vendor records, including contract tracking and W-9 compliance
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support process improvements and ensure smooth AP operations
  • Support ad-hoc projects as needed to improve AP efficiency

Who you are

  • 1-3 years Accounts Payable experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience with AP software (e.g., Tipalti, NetSuite, or similar platforms) preferred
  • Prior experience in a tech industry or startup environment is a plus

Where?

We are headquartered in NYC, with an office in Denton, TX and remote locations across 24 states. Our largest markets outside of the Tri-State area and Dallas-Fort Worth area are San Diego, Denver, Raleigh. We embrace a hybrid culture and offer opportunities throughout the year for folks to get together in regional markets or at HQ. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones.
