About the Role
We’re accelerating the pace of mineral discovery. Our AI drill targeting software has gone 8 for 8 hitting mineralized targets, a significant improvement over industry standards. Now the biggest mining companies in the world want results on their ground, and we deliver them as a service. We’re hiring a Project Geophysicist to deliver the geophysical side of our customer projects.
You’ll process, invert, and interpret geophysical data for customer projects, integrate the results with geology, geochemistry, and drilling, and turn them into ranked drill targets. You’ll use our software, Python APIs, and modeling tools, then present the results and work through them with the customer’s geologists. You’ll work on projects around the world, see many deposit styles, and bring what you learn back to our product and research teams. The role sits between geophysics, geology, software, and the customer, and you’ll work closely with the founders.
What You’ll Do
- Process, quality-control, and invert geophysical datasets, such as magnetics, gravity, electromagnetics, and induced polarization
- Integrate geophysical models with geology, geochemistry, and drilling data to generate and rank drill targets
- Use our software, Python APIs, and modeling tools to deliver geophysical results on customer projects
- Work with Project Geologists to deliver customer projects from scope through delivery
- Advise customers on survey design and data acquisition
- Present technical results to customer geologists and executives
- Write technical reports and statements of work
- Bring customer feedback to the product and research teams
- Join customer field campaigns and site visits as needed
About You
- Master’s or PhD in geophysics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of applied geophysics experience in mineral exploration or mining
- Hands-on experience processing and inverting at least one of potential field, electromagnetic, or induced polarization data
- Comfortable with Python, scripting, and 3D modeling and GIS tools
- Credible and personable with experienced geologists and executives
- Able to travel to customer sites and remote parts of the US and world

- Professional registration (P.Geo or equivalent)

- Experience developing software tools or machine learning methods for geophysics
