Role Overview
Fuse, a fintech company serving financial institutions with cutting-edge enterprise lending software, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Founding Account Executive. This unique role combines the proactive approach of a Business Development Representative (BDR) with the strategic oversight and expertise of a VP of Sales. As the Founding AE, you will be instrumental in driving our sales efforts, building and refining our sales processes, and contributing to our overall growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales pipeline development: Proactively generate and manage a sales pipeline,
- initiating conversations with key leaders in the financial sector.
- Client engagement: Conduct customer demos, lead detailed technical sales
- conversations, and manage deals from initiation to close.
- Sales strategy & execution: Develop and implement scalable and repeatable sales
- processes, continually refining our playbook to maximize win rates.
- Team building & coaching: Initially focused on direct selling, you will eventually help
- recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team, providing hands-on
- coaching and support.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, and
- customer success teams to align sales strategies with company goals and
- customer needs.
Required Experience
- Proven track record: 5+ years of experience in sales roles, with a demonstrated ability to drive deals in fast-paced environments.
- Industry background: experience in SaaS or enterprise software sales to financial institutions with >$100k ACV. Experience in selling to auto lenders and credit unions is highly desirable.
- Prospect Development: Skilled in nurturing and advancing outbound prospects from initial contact through the sales process, leveraging leads provided by the SDR team.
- Hands-on Approach: Willingness to roll up your sleeves and handle all aspects of the sales process, from initial contact to closing deals.
- Leadership & Coaching: Experience in working in high-performing sales teams, with a track record of coaching and developing individual contributors.
- Customer Focus: High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to build rapport quickly, understanding and addressing the unique needs of each prospect.
