About the Job:
Helaina is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to help us build and oversee the proper functioning of Helaina’s supply chain function. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in supply chain for food, ingredients, or supplements, is deeply organized, and excels in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Execute supply chain day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with the team to establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Report on CMO and manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with sales, the COO, and the CFO to forecast product demand.
- Maintain up to date shipping documentation.
- Prepare production plans in coordination with R&D.
- Create and implement a process for tracking COGS; monitor COGS and report to Finance.
- Help build an inventory tracking system to scale with production.
- Work with freight forwarders to achieve the successful import of product.
- Own end to end logistics.
- Negotiate prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Build a post-sales logistics infrastructure and process; provide end-to-end post-sales support in partnership with sales including client onboarding and order fulfillment.
- Spearhead the set up third party warehousing and shipping capabilities for commercial scale as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
About You:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management
- You have 10+ years practical experience working in a food, supplement, or ingredient supply chain or logistics focused role.
- You have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- You have excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- You are highly organized, analytical, process oriented and detail oriented.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- You are able to work collaboratively with other functional areas including manufacturing, QA/QC, sales, marketing and finance.
- You have working knowledge of dangerous goods regulations including U.S. DOT, ICAO/IATA and IMDG.
- You have experience implementing an ERP system.
- You have experience working in the supply chain within the food industry.
- CPSM, CSCP, and/or SCPro certification a plus.
