About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Test Engineer to join our growing operation team. This role requires end-to-end ownership of test strategy and implementation from product development through to mass production in both production line testing and field validation, The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in RF, Camera, Audio, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth testing, as well as in-depth knowledge of both SMT and FATP manufacturing processes. In our fast-paced startup environment, the ideal candidate must also demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to change and respond with agility and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the manufacturing test strategy and implementation across SMT and FATP stages for multiple product lines.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with R&D, hardware, and quality teams to define test plans from EVT/DVT/PVT through the entire product life cycle.
- Drive test architecture, including the specification, development, and deployment of automated and manual test solutions.
- Drive CM execution—ensuring test station readiness, operator training, fixture qualification, and debug support.
- Establish and track test coverage metrics; proactively define improvement plans to enhance quality, yield, and throughput.
- Analyze test data and systemic failures; lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure DFT (Design for Testability) and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback is provided to the design team early in development.
- Drive factory builds, monitor test KPIs, and enforce disciplined execution during NPI and production MP phases.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing test engineering, including direct exposure to SMT and FATP environments.
- Proven track record supporting product development from EVT/DVT/PVT through MP.
- Strong working knowledge of RF testing (TX/RX), Camera module verification, Acoustic/Audio measurements, and Wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth).
- Experienced in test data analysis, root cause investigation, and yield management.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing quality principles including SPC, FMEA, and GR&R.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English, with effective cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience using JIRA for issue tracking and Arena for document and change management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or collaborating with startup companies, with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and rapid change.
- Experience collaborating with global CMs and managing factory test readiness.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFT practices and product reliability standards.
- Experience leading test strategy from EVT/DVT/PVT to MP in a consumer hardware or IoT product environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, CE) and reliability testing standards.
