THE ROLE

As Senior Manager of Marketing, you will play a crucial role in attracting and engaging valuable customers and expanding Orum’s brand awareness––all to drive growth and market success. Leveraging your expertise in product marketing and your substantial understanding of the payments industry, you will position our products for maximum customer adoption and market penetration and manage a holistic marketing plan that includes: Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales Marketing, Brand Marketing, PR/Communications, and B2B Events. This role requires dynamic, cross-functional collaboration, as well as exceptional execution ability.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Manager of Marketing role is being filled at an exciting and critical time for our business. You have the opportunity to use early signals to help further define and optimize our go to market strategy and position the business to meet and exceed customer acquisition and brand awareness goals. Key to this will be driving top of funnel growth and collaborating with the Sales and Customer Success teams, as well as our Product leadership, to convert new customers and drive net revenue retention via renewals and upsell opportunities from new products, new features, and/or expanded use of payment rails.

THE TEAM

The Senior Manager of Marketing will be a member of the Commercial Department, the team responsible for leading and executing the company’s commercial strategy to maximize revenue growth and market share. The department includes the Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success functions. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.

YOUR IMPACT

Within 1 Month, You’ll:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive product marketing strategies:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and communicate product positioning, value propositions, and key messages that resonate with customers.
    • Conduct market research, and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities in the payments industry.
    • Translate technical product features into compelling benefits and use cases to drive customer engagement and adoption of Orum's payment solutions.
    • Develop and manage go-to-market plans for new product launches, including messaging, pricing, distribution channels, and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure alignment on messaging, positioning, and sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Commercial team to align product marketing initiatives with overall objectives and strategic goals.
  • Identify relevant B2B event opportunities in 2H 2023 and 2024 to generate qualified leads and increase brand awareness.

Within 3 Months, You’ll:

  • Drive marketing campaigns and initiatives:
    • Conceptualize, plan, and execute integrated marketing campaigns to generate qualified leads, increase product awareness, and support revenue growth.
    • Develop and implement paid acquisition strategies across various digital channels to drive targeted traffic and conversions, leveraging external agency resources.
    • Manage SEO strategy to improve organic visibility and drive qualified traffic to the website, directing external agency and freelance resources.
    • Develop compelling content, including sales collateral, presentations, website content, and thought leadership.
    • Work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to develop assets and materials to support and drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Measure and report on marketing performance:
    • Define and track key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
    • Analyze data and provide insights on marketing performance, customer behavior, and market trends to drive continuous improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future marketing strategies.

Within 6 Months, You’ll:

  • Manage B2B events and collaborations:
    • Plan and oversee participation in industry trade shows, conferences, and B2B events to generate qualified leads and increase brand awareness, leveraging external PR and experiential resources as needed.
    • Identify relevant event opportunities and manage the end-to-end event planning process, including setup, staffing, presentations, and lead capture.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop engaging event content, presentations, and collateral that effectively showcase Orum.
    • Track event performance, measure ROI, and provide post-event analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate on building the Marketing portion of the strategy and execution plan for the Commercial Department:
    • Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and goals for Marketing, ensuring alignment with Orum's overall business objectives.
    • Identify short- and long-term resource needs.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF:

  • Proven experience of 4+ years in product marketing roles within the payments industry or related fintech field.
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry, including knowledge of money movement technology, fintech trends, and customer behaviors.
  • Demonstrated success in executing product marketing strategies that drive customer adoption and revenue growth.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a data-driven mindset to measure and optimize marketing performance.
  • Experience in managing paid acquisition campaigns and optimizing SEO strategies.
  • Experience in planning and executing B2B events and sponsorships.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and persuasive messaging.
  • Proficiency in market research and competitive analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and other relevant tools.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities with prior experience working with early to mid-stage companies a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.

Pay Transparency

At Orum, we pride ourselves on articulating a clear and transparent philosophy around equitable, impartial compensation that will allow us to recruit and retain an exceptional team. Base salary is market driven at the point in time of offer and is based on tier 1 market data. The base salary for this role will range between $145,000 to $178,000 and is determined on a few factors including your skills, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews, and leveling.
