We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager with a strong understanding of eCommerce marketing to drive the overall growth, strategy, and profitability of one of the brands in our portfolio.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role, responsible for leading eCommerce (DTC & Amazon) strategies and pioneering strategic expansion opportunities to result in year-over-year growth in revenue and profitability. This role requires a macro-level understanding of P&L management as well as a micro understanding of the KPIs that drive efficient DTC growth. This role will own the strategy and execution for its brand and be a leader within our broader portfolio.

Pattern operates as a shared services organization; this role will work cross-functionally with the full SSO to achieve business goals. This role will initially report to the brand founder & former CEO, with a dotted line into Pattern’s Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales and profit plans to ensure business performance is on track to hit P&L targets. Accountability of eCommerce (DTC & Amazon):
  • Revenue
  • Paid Marketing Budget
  • Promotional Expenses & Strategies
  • Operational expense targets
  • Underlying marketing KPIs such as MER, CVR, LTV, etc…
  • Directly set revenue & channel performance expectations with shared services and individual channel leads – this may include paid social, paid search, lifecycle, podcasting, CRO, Amazon PPC etc. Be accountable for delivery of these.
  • Drive the success of the brand in terms of daily business operations, quality, and sales
  • Be a key stakeholder in merchandising, NPI, and GTM strategies
  • Ensure information flows across the Pattern team to collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other groups to shape future products, partnerships, and initiatives
  • Foster an engaged, collaborative team culture of feedback, coaching, and professional learning
  • Present information about the brand's performance, plans, and updates within Pattern to our investors and external partners. Actively network and stay up-to-date with market and industry trends to find opportunities to contribute to margin and bottom line.
  • Be a problem solver! Every business has problems that need to be fixed that no one is thinking about. This role must be helping to look around corners and problem-solve.

Key metrics this role will be assessed on:

  • Revenue growth to plan or above
  • Achievement of gross margin targets
  • Achievement of brand net operating profit plan
  • NPS score
  • Key marketing metrics

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in DTC. Applicants who do not have demonstrated depth of growth and marketing experience in DTC will not be considered.
  • Demonstration of innovative growth strategies
  • Strong experience and understanding of DTC marketing – you may have begun your career in a paid marketing role. You understand what KPIs drive top-of-funnel vs. bottom-of-funnel performance in a DTC ecosystem.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data, shaping strategies accordingly
  • Superlative written communication skills, epitomizing brand voice and excellence in messaging.
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing overarching vision with hands-on execution
  • Adept project manager with superior organizational skills, adept at prioritizing tasks and managing timelines
  • Collaborative leader who is adept at fostering teamwork across departments and communicating with efficacy
  • Innate creative problem-solver driven by innovation and proactive problem-solving
  • Experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and sensitivity to the importance of ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Understanding of different business functions, including how to ensure they are running efficiently and proficiently

Compensation & Benefits

  • The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $175,000 depending on level, experience and qualifications of the candidate. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation based on achievement of target performance metrics.
  • All employees receive equity in the form of vesting stock options.
  • Other benefits include company-sponsored health insurance, company-paid dental insurance, a generous PTO policy (20 days of vacation, 5 days of sick leave, plus company-paid holidays), as well as a company-sponsored 401(k) plan. We also provide an employee discount on products from Pattern's portfolio of brands.
