We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director of eCommerce to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging customers across our full brand portfolio, and ensuring that the online experience is exceptional. As the leader of the eCommerce team, you will lead the strategy and execution of the online business to maximize sales and profitability.

The successful candidate will be a strategic and innovative thinker who is able to develop and implement solutions to complex problems. In addition, the candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

This role reports in to the Chief Business Officer, and collaborates closely with Brand General Managers. This role will oversee a team of 3 at the time of hire, alongside managing external engineering & SEO resources.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Web Operations:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our e-commerce portfolio (7 brands currently)
  • Ensure website functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Oversee item set up team

eCommerce Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Develop and execute e-commerce strategies to drive online sales and customer engagement. Lead strategy for onsite customer experience including assortment guidelines, content, product boosting and navigational changes. Drive innovative features, functionality, and content needs that support the digital selling experience.
  • All strategies should be supported by analysis of metrics and current market trends thereby delivering and executing actionable insights, analyses, and recommendations for both short- and long-term strategies for the eCommerce business

Web Marketing:

  • Own conceptualization, prioritization, and calendarization of web marketing strategy and content

Customer Journey Mapping:

  • Map the customer journey and identify touchpoints for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Address customer feedback and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Site Merchandising:

  • Own site merchandising strategies, driving consistent refinement and taxonomy refreshes; using data to interpret and react to metrics to help drive site content strategies

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • Manage our SEO agency
  • Optimize product pages and content for search engines to improve organic search rankings.

Reporting:

  • Prepares materials for internal and external review. Materials include sales results, inventory, site analytics, SKU information, upcoming launches and promotions, corrective actions, etc

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of eCommerce and P&L experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with Shopify
  • Proven ability to drive customer-centric innovation
  • Excellent product sensibility and business-driving merchandising skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; very bottom-line-oriented with a focus on efficiency and profitability
  • Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities. and drive with urgency
  • Must be eligible and available to work in the United States. At this time, Pattern is unable to hire employees based outside of the United States nor those who require sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $140,000 depending on level, experience, and qualifications of the candidate. This role is eligible for performance-based bonus compensation.
  • All employees receive equity in the form of vesting stock options.
  • Other benefits include company-sponsored health insurance, company-paid dental insurance, a generous PTO policy (20 days of vacation, 5 days of sick leave, plus company-paid holidays), as well as a company-sponsored 401(k) plan. We also provide an employee discount on products from Pattern's portfolio of brands.
