Primary is looking for a Marketing Intern to assist with digital content production for the firm's brand magazine First Edition and special events projects related to the firm's annual summit for 2,000+ top founders and investors.
Primary is a seed-stage venture capital firm dedicated to delivering exceptional support to the founders of transformational businesses in NYC. By pairing meaningful investment resources with the largest Impact team of any NYC seed investor, our portfolio companies—Chief, Electric, Alloy, and Latch, to name a few—have reached an industry-best seed-to-A graduation rate.
Marketing team interns will work directly with the Marketing team and other team members across Investments, Networks, and Operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a rising college junior or senior to get a 360-degree perspective on marketing within venture firms, the world of startups, and the work that goes into marketing, branding, and events.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem solver, organized, and someone who pays close attention to details.

In this role you will:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of Primary’s annual summit for 2,000+ top founders and investors which includes but is not limited to: organizing mailing lists, updating data sheets, monitoring our events registration platform, asset organization, and delivering on a “best in class” experience for our events attendees.
  • Supporting the creation and organization of editorial initiatives for our channels such as blogs, Seed Reports, Focal lists, Newsletters, and social media content (you won’t be writing full articles)
  • Spearhead ad-hoc projects within the marketing function of the greater Impact team to help drive Primary’s goals of increasing brand awareness and maximizing your learning objectives

About You

  • Rising college Junior or Senior Must be available to work in NYC through at least mid-September, with opportunities to extend the internship through your senior year
  • High sense of intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Great sense of emotional intelligence and people skills
  • Verbally and visually minded: You'll need to turn around clean copy and whip up quick visuals
  • Creative: This is a testing ground for developing new ideas; thinking outside the box is very welcome here
  • Thoughtful: You make considered recommendations based on past experience, data, external research, and intuition
  • Detail-oriented: You'll be working in a number of shared drives, folders, and inboxes that need to be meticulously maintained, ability to be analytical and Google Sheets savvy
  • Self-starting: You are resourceful, passionate about ownership, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to hustle
