The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and work with the broader finance team. This position involves assisting with month-end close procedures, data validation, preparing journal entries, AP and performing account reconciliations.

What you’ll do

  • Play an active role in month-end close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
  • Own day to day activities around Small Door’s accounts payable process including but not limited to invoice processing and vendor management
  • Own employee expense management and reimbursement programs
  • Own accruals and prepaids
  • Provide support for financial audits & tax filings
  • Apply knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and best practices in daily work
  • Utilize strong Excel skills to manage and analyze data
  • Leverage experience in a corporate accounting environment to enhance team productivity

Who you are

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accountant position or similar
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA/CA) designation is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary for success in this role
  • Proficiency in executing Month-end Close Activities and Month-end Journal Entries is required
  • Worked with ERP systems with multiple locations, preferably NetSuite, to manage data and financial processes
  • Must have experience in Monthly Account Reconciliation, Monthly Accruals, and Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Advanced skill level in Excel Formulas is required (Pivot, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
  • Ability to perform Monthly Reconciliation tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective processes improvements
  • Independently lead project-based work.
  • Experience working in a business structure with multiple locations and entities
