About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. This is a research and development role which requires experience with modern machine learning frameworks. The responsibilities include developing NER models, text classification models, and other auxiliary models to improve the customer’s experience in the Teleskope workspace.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain machine learning models using state of the art architectures

• Optimize performance of models for computational efficiency while retaining classification performance

• Source data and oversee annotation management and data quality prioritization

• Balance researching new technologies with practical approaches

• Collaborate with other data scientists, engineers, and quality control engineers to create a continuous improvement loop

• Stay up to date with novel technologies and architectures that can serve as directions for improvement

What you bring

Expected

• 4+ years of experience with exploratory data analysis, model development, and model monitoring

• Strong understanding of machine learning best practices, algorithms, and domains

• Specific experience working with natural language processing tasks related to token and seq classification

• Strong fluency in Python; experience with machine learning frameworks

• Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively

• BS/BA/MS/PHD in technical field (Math/Physics/Statistics/CS), or equivalent experience

• In office role; must be based in NYC

• Working knowledge of golang or other compiled languages

• Experience working with smaller teams and managing shifting priorities
