Who are we looking for?

The Retirement Plan Administration (RPA) team is responsible for the compliance testing, government reporting, plan terminations, and retirement plan compliance for Vestwell’s bundled clients. This team is the go-to subject matter experts on qualified retirement plan rules and operations - often operating as an internal consulting group, defining and guiding retirement plan specific strategic, operational and product improvements across the company. The team ensures cross-functional alignment in iterating and executing the annual retirement plan administration process, overseeing the retirement plan compliance of Vestwell’s clients and driving product improvements.

Vestwell is expanding and we’re excited about adding a Compliance Testing Manager to our Retirement Plan Administration team who is passionate about our mission to change the retirement FinTech space. Ideally, you have spent 5-8 years working within the Retirement Plan Administration industry and at least 3 years experience managing a team

A person who would thrive in this role is an organized and experienced manager who is able to call upon retirement plan subject matter expertise, leadership skills & project management fundamentals to lead the team. They will also need to maintain scalability, identify problems, devise solutions, and implement changes to areas of the team that need to evolve in order to execute on the company’s business strategy and achieve our commercial goals. You must be comfortable being responsible for the retirement plan compliance of our ever-increasing book of business.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the RPA workstream and ensuring all compliance testing work is completed timely
  • Communicate status, risk areas, changes and milestones of team workstreams to senior business leaders
  • Annually reviewing and revising processto ensure scalability
  • Working closely with our tech, development and product teams to enhance our product offerings
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and ensuring our product evolves with any new changes
  • Manage cross-functional projects, taking complete ownership from cradle to grave: business case, scope, cost, schedule, action cycles, risks, issues, decisions, interdependencies and milestones.
  • Consult on projects for function leaders to help devise solutions for their toughest problems
  • Managing the BPO relationship with our offseas team


  • 5+ years in retirement plan administration
  • 3+ years of retirement plan management experience
  • Impeccable communication skills
  • Strong track record of strategic project management
  • ASPPA credentials
  • Expert experience in Excel (formulas) and retirement plan software

The expected salary range for this position is $85k-$110k with variable compensation potential. Please note that salary bands are based on NY and other similar metro areas and may differ based on where the role is ultimately hired.
