There are over 30M small businesses in the United States, but only a tiny fraction of them have a workplace savings program in place. As the savings gap in the country widens, it’s imperative that every worker has access to and participates in their company’s savings program, such as a 401(k) or 403(b). We believe that American workers should have easy access to an inexpensive, flexible, and intuitive solution to save for a brighter future.

Unfortunately, prior to Vestwell, small businesses have been neglected and underserved, with expensive, inflexible, poorly designed offerings built on old, mainframe software. Vestwell is changing that, starting with rebuilding the core infrastructure for the modern era.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RFP Director to join our growing team. The RFP Director will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) from prospective and current clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, exceptional writing and communication skills, and a proven track record of success in managing complex RFP processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the end-to-end RFP process, including coordinating cross-functional teams to gather information, develop compelling responses, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Analyze RFP requirements and develop a strategic approach to synthesizing data and crafting responses that effectively showcase Vestwell's value proposition and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, marketing, and legal teams to ensure alignment and accuracy of RFP responses, and consistently produce high-quality proposals that support our revenue goals, while clearly articulating and framing our offerings and solutions
  • Own library of RFP content, templates, and best practices to streamline future response efforts.
  • Manage multiple RFPs simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct post-mortem reviews of completed RFPs to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to inform RFP content and strategy, including new technologies and systems to make process more efficient


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on RFP management, business development, or product marketing.
  • Proven ability in creating and managing RFP processes for large enterprise deals.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Project Management in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with challenging priorities
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, including proven ability to link client needs (individually and holistically) to internal and marketplace solutions

The expected salary range for this position is $130K - $150K. Please note that salary bands are based on NY and other similar metro areas and may differ based on where the role is ultimately hired.
