The Role

We’re seeking a Finance Lead who can combine big-picture financial strategy with hands-on operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for everything from forecasting and vendor oversight to managing monthly close and payroll. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who wants to work at the intersection of innovation, execution, and scale.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance

• Lead annual and rolling financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across the entire HumanX experience.

• Provide decision support and ROI analysis across departments including marketing, programming, production, and partnerships.

• Partner with executive leadership to develop revenue models for ticketing, sponsorship, and custom programs.

Operational Finance

• Own and manage monthly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts.

• Lead payroll operations, including coordination with HR/ops, payroll service providers (who manage tax and legal obligations)

• Track department spend in real-time; proactively surface risks and opportunities.

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, contract payment schedules, and cash flow management.

Vendor & Partner Finance

• Support negotiation and financial oversight of vendor contracts and production budgets.

• Collaborate closely with the Partnerships and Production teams to ensure aligned financial planning and timely execution.

Financial Reporting & Controls

• Design and implement financial dashboards and reporting frameworks for the leadership team and investors.

• Ensure financial operations are audit-ready and compliant with applicable laws and best practices.

• Prepare bi-annual and post-event financial reports for board meetings and investor updates.

Who You Are

• 5+ years experience in finance, FP&A, or accounting roles (ideally at a startup, high-growth event brand, or creative organization).

• Strong knowledge of monthly close, payroll, budgeting, and financial modeling.

• Comfortable with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Insperity, Airbase, Excel/Sheets).

• Analytical, highly organized, and comfortable juggling both high-level strategy and detailed execution.

• A natural collaborator with a bias for action, and a passion for technology, innovation, and events.

• Bonus: CPA or prior experience in event/hospitality finance.
